Henley Town Hall

The Town Hall presides over the Market Place; a Grade II listed building, opened in 1901 and designed by Henry Hare. During the First World War, the town hall was used as a Red Cross Voluntary Aid Detachment auxiliary hospital. You will see commemorative stones either side of the main doorway, added in the early 1920, listing the lives of service personnel who had died in the First World War and another stone added after the WW2. Inside the Town Hall, there is a collection of historic painting and the name of every Mayor since 1305 to the present day is engraved on wooden plaques.
