Cliveden House, Berkshire
Surrounded by expansive National Trust-managed gardens and woodland with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the river Thames, the majestic, Grade I listed Cliveden House wedding venue is a 19th-century Italianate masterpiece.
Features such as the Grand Avenue and the Fountain of Love are iconic features that add an exquisite touch to any wedding arrival, while the house is filled to bursting with antique furniture, period features, luxurious fabrics and priceless art. Choose from over ten different spaces for your ceremony, from the truly intimate to the utterly grand, with up to 180 of your loved ones, and enjoy a wealth of big-day photo opportunities from the parterre gardens and the Cockerill Pavilion to the Cliveden boathouse with its own flotilla (from April to October).
When it comes to the reception you can decide between the Boudoir, Lady Astor's former sitting room, the French Dining Room, one of the house's most dazzling rooms, and the Cliveden Dining Room, with room for up to 24, 60 and 120 friends and family respectively. Or extend the invitation to up to 230 loved ones with a marquee.
Did you know? The intricate gilded panelling of the French Dining Room was directly lifted from Madame de Pompadour’s 18th century dining room by the request of William Waldorf Astor after a visit to Paris in 1897.
