The host with the most - come and meet Toastmaster John
With many years experience in organising and coordinating weddings, golfing, sports and...
Hannah Klewpatinond is the owner of boutique salon HK Hair based in Milton Keynes. We catch up with her to answer a reader's question about hair styles for winter weddings.
'I'm looking for a hairstyle to suit both me and my two bridesmaids for my winter wedding. I have afro-textured hair, one of my bridesmaids has shoulder-length blonde hair and the other has brown hair. What do you suggest?'
Hannah says, "When considering a bridal hairstyle for a winter wedding, we always need to consider the venue, particularly if you'll be travelling between one place and another because the Great British weather is so unpredictable! Unless you're having your ceremony in the same venue as your reception, I would suggest wearing some of your hair up and not all down because the style might drop with the lower temperatures. A structured up do with vintage-style waves or even a classic chignon would be the perfect choice for all the hair types described within your party.
I also suggest coordinating bridesmaids' dresses and accessories and be flexible with a hairstyle that suits each bridesmaid. That way, everybody will feel comfortable on the day, which will make for some stunning photographs. The half up do (pictured) was created as part of our photo shoot to ensure that the hairstyle would withstand the wind and look perfect after the party had finished, but also showcase each of the different hair types.
Helping clients fall in love with the natural state of their hair is a passion of mine, so I am delighted that this was a key bridal trend leading into 2020 that looks set to continue into 2021.
