In full bloom - Claire Ridley lunches at No. Fifty Cheyne in London's Chelsea
Editor Claire Ridley was invited to London's Chelsea-based restaurant...
Natalie Cameron is the director of Buckinghamshire-based Your Story Bridal Boutique, a luxurious yet relaxed destination for the modern bride set in the heart of picturesque Marlow.
On the trending topic of brides choosing sustainable gowns, accessories and more, she tells us: "Everyone in the wedding industry is becoming more conscious about the importance of sustainability and brides will often want to do their bit when choosing their dress. Whilst boutiques themselves, just as individuals, can make small changes in the hope of making a big difference, the sustainability of a dress largely sits with the designer."
Natalie continues, "One of our bridal designers whose dresses we stock in the boutique, Sassi Holford, is based in the UK and sustainability is at the heart of the brand's ethos. Just some of their initiatives for a more environmentally friendly process are (but are not limited to) the dresses are handmade in Somerset; the fabrics are sourced from Europe (some as close as 25 miles away from their atelier) and they have their Climate Pledge to become carbon neutral by 2030. The team also aim to reduce plastic use by 50%, and they actively recycle and reuse by-products from all their garments."
Your Story Bridal Boutique is hosting the Sassi Holford Harmony Trunk Show from 17th - 19th May. Natalie concludes, "So as you can see, there is plenty that designers can do to become more mindful of our environment, so choose your designer wisely if this is an important factor to you in your dress shopping process."
